Confidential under Georgia law. O.C.G.A. § 21-2-225 excludes phone numbers, full dates of birth, full or partial Social Security numbers, and driver's-license numbers from public voter products. A protected voter's real residence is also withheld.
Protected Stockbridge Voter Addresses
Georgia uses targeted protections rather than hiding every address in the voter rolls. VoteSafe protects the residence of a qualifying voter who has a protective or stalking order or proper shelter certification. The voter files through the county registrar. Use limits follow the file. Commercial use of Georgia voter-list data is a misdemeanor under O.C.G.A. § 21-2-601. Public access never permits stalking, harassment, intimidation, or harmful contact.
Stockbridge Voter Status Changes
Inactive does not mean barred from voting. Georgia's July 2025 no-contact process sent notices for 218,951 active statewide records that showed five years without activity. A voter who did not respond could move to inactive status, yet an inactive voter may still cast a regular ballot. Voting or other qualifying contact restores the record to active status.
Cancellation comes later and follows further statutory cycles. Recent state action also reinforces the confidential side of voter registration records. In January 2026, the Secretary of State stated that full Social Security numbers, driver's-license numbers, and full dates of birth remain protected from unknown outside parties. The July 2026 Safe at Home launch added a substitute-address path for qualifying survivors. Together, these changes show how Georgia can publish useful election data without opening the most sensitive voter identifiers.
